镇海楼（zhenhai Tower）:现为广州博物馆，国家级文物保护单位，广州标志性建筑之一。明永嘉侯朱亮祖扩建广州城时，在越秀山上修筑了高五层楼的宏大建筑，在当时可以当作是摩天大楼奇迹了。建筑有雄镇海疆之意，故名镇海楼。羊城八景之一。它是广州传统中轴线的起点和最高点。俗语：“未登五层楼，不算到广州。”
